Responsibilities

Purpose of the Role

Reporting into the Contractor Manager this role is responsible for the day to day implementation of Hermes Approved Delivery contractors across the HUK delivery Network.

  • To work closely with the Delivery Planning Team, Field Team, Depot Network & Loss Prevention colleagues on Next Day, Collections and Missing Parcels for HAD solutions in order to implement fixes.
  • Control service and compliance through analysis of HAD Contract solutions performance in order to achieve the agreed service and cost criteria to our final Customers.
  • To ensure management controls both in Depot and Field are trained, implemented and reviewed were the HAD solution operates.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing HAD contractors across the HUK delivery Network.
  • Work with the Delivery Planning Team, Field Team and Depot Network and Loss Prevention colleagues on Next Day, Collections and Missing Parcels enquiries using various MI including, Ops 175, 999, Enquiries and KPI Reports.
  • Create a standard where HAD Contract solutions compliance is controlled to achieve the agreed service and cost criteria to our final Customers.
  • Build and develop effective working relationships with HAD contractors.
  • To ensure management controls both in Depot and Field are trained, implemented and reviewed were the HAD solution operates.
  • Conduct periodical service reviews with Contractors to ensure service targets are met and maintained.
  • To ensure Hermes processes are followed by HAD Contractors for delivery and for sub depot management.
  • Maintenance of individual Contractor records including back-up solutions.
  • Responsible for the administration and implementation of agreed Contractor Pay.
  • Represent the Company through professional, personal contact at all times with our Clients who use the Hermes distribution network for the delivery of their products to their Customers.
  • To liaise effectively with the Depots and Field to ensure the agreed service levels are established and maintained to provide a consistent quality service to the Contractors, Sub Depots and Couriers.
  • To work with the Contractor Manager to continually review and develop the HAD Model to ensure it meets our client and end customer demands.

Qualifications

  • Previous people-management experience with a particular emphasis on relationship management.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to get things done.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and an ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Able to problem solve and plan effective contingencies and solutions.
  • Competent negotiation skills and comfortable making difficult decisions
